ANZAC Week

This week our learning focus has been on ANZAC Day - why it is important to remember the past and those who have gone before us.  We talked about family members that fought in WWI, those that lost their lives, bravery, sacrifice, horrible conditions and the terrible things that they went through.

We were very lucky to have a virtual tour of the Gallipoli Exhibition at Te Papa.  This opportunity gave us lots of new knowledge, discussions and questions, which we emailed to Scott who was our tour guide.

Our School held an ANZAC Memorial Assembly, where we raised the New Zealand flag, put up crosses and poppies and read the Roll of Honour for the fallen from our Ormond community.  We also made and shared ANZAC biscuits.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
