Our last STEM Challenge of the term was the Great Egg Drop Challenge! Our aim was to protect our egg when it was dropped from a big height - we didn't want any Humpty Dumptys! We worked in pairs to plan our design, work out what we needed and who was going to bring it and then we made our designs at school.
Finally on Friday, we tested our designs out with Mr Poole's help. Check out the video to find out the fate of our eggs...
We are year 4, 5 and 6 learners in Rimu Learning Hub at Ormond School in Turanganui-a-Kiwa/Gisborne, New Zealand. Our teachers are Mrs Parsons and Mrs Thompson.

STEM Challenge - Making a Catapult
This week, our STEM Challenge using the Learn, Create, Share model, was to create a Catapult. This ties in with our Discover the Past theme, especially as this week we are looking at inventors and inventions. We tried 2 different types of catapults, but found the smaller, simpler one worked better. Next we want to try and make a big catapult and see how far it goes!
